Emerging from Omaha’s noise scene, experimental act Cast Off Form blends organic and electronic elements including electroacoustic improvisation, field recordings, and off-label uses of (non)instruments.

The resulting sounds can be both abrasive and ethereal. Known for thematic releases with densely layered textures, Cast Off Form invites listeners to a place deep within themselves. It is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Happy Winter Solstice!

A timely reading today came from Discourse 2 of the Yellow Emperor’s Classic on Internal Medicine.

The discourse focuses on according with the four seasons.

While reflecting on winter and darkness, I continued working on Being Unformed. This weekend, I completed 8 paintings for a related zine.

Other happenings:

- I remastered Northern Lights. Now available on Bandcamp, the remastered tracks will be streaming on other platforms soon.

- Alex Jacobsen is mixing and mastering Recanning & Printshift. Look for these sometime next year.

- A new (old) project is gaining momentum. Those who’ve heard me discuss the mundane sound recordings of an average morning will be interested to know that fresh developments are happening.
